Annual Check-Up and Pap Smear

Annual gynaecological check-ups are important for your long-term health. At Women-Baby’s Center, we use annual exams and Pap smears as a way to detect early signs of cervical cancer and other diseases. Annual check-ups also include a pelvic exam. While you might feel nervous about receiving one, they only take a few minutes and are necessary for early detection of any issues that could cause infertility or disease down the road. We recommend women have a pelvic exam at least once a year. All pelvic exams and Pap smears are done in our clinic by a trained staff member.

If you have been experiencing pelvic pain, use birth control, or you have noticed heavier menstrual periods, it is important to schedule a pelvic exam with the team here at Women-Baby’s Center. Early detection is key for fast and effective diagnosis and treatment.

At the end of your exam, you will be informed when to expect the results of your Pap smear. If the results come back with any issues you need to address, we will contact you right away to schedule a follow-up visit to perform more tests.
